Ray interview in Stern Magazine

Ray was recently interviewed for the German news magazine Stern about his current jobs, and why he left MTV back in 1996.
To sum it up, he was asked to set up a huge show in just 3 weeks, to compete with the growing succes of German music station Viva. He said, no, I can't do that, but was pressured to go on with it anyway - and it led to the terrible show in Hamburg, after which he resigned from MTV.

Ray back on VH1 UK : June 23rd-24th

June 2001 -- Ray Cokes and Rob will be on VH1 UK on June 23rd-24th 2001 for a special weekend called "Still Wanted?" There will be a recorded show on Saturday and a LIVE show Sunday...

In Ray's own words:

The weekend is called STILL WANTED? and this is how it looks, more or less.....
Saturday 23 June features a small budget live show between 3 and 4 pm; a Ten of The Best songs/videos and a documentary about me and the Most Wanted days!
Sunday 24 June features the documentary repeat, another ten of the best, (this time with old Most Wanted performances) and finishes with a bigger live show between 5.30 and 7pm, hopefully with live guests and a small Club Bed type audience. And that's all folks!

This is how VH1 UK presents the show on their website:

"In 1987 MTV Europe, now the largest broadcaster in the world, employed Ray Cokes to break down barriers across Europe. Nine years on Ray has not only broken barriers - he's moved in and Europe wants him to stay. Labelled to "most wanted in Europe", for four years Ray spent four nights each week entertaining viewers in 60 Million homes across 38 countries with his live award winning show, MTV's Most Wanted. Now Mr Cokes takes over VH1 for the weekend and has got countless goodies to giveaway including top of the range TV's.
Tune in for a fun filled corker of a show!"

Europe2 Radio Show

Ray's much talked about radio show on French channel Europe2 will not take place. Negotiations have come to an end.

Ray wrote in his diary on February 25th 2001 that the radio station and himself could not come to an agreement.

Too bad, we all say, as many fans had looked forward to hearing Ray on air again. Since his (too?) popular show on Virgin he has not been on radio.
