"Best of ..." on MTV Germany

December 23rd, 1999 - You should consider a trip to Germany this weekend, because MTV Germany has been searching the MTV archives for interesting stuff and what a surprise! They discovered footage from a certain VJ called Ray Cokes, so this weekend as part of their Best of MTV weekend they'll be rebroadcasting all the best and worst bits from Ray in 2 special programmmes:

Sunday 26th Dec 1999:

- Best of Most Wanted 1993 : 17.00 - 18.00 CET
highlights from the first 2 years of Most Wanted (1991-1992)

- Best of X-Ray Vision 1996 : 18.00 - 19.00 CET
The compilation episode that MTV Europe aired the week after the very last live show of X-Ray Vision.

No new show on MTV

There are also rumours going around about a new Ray Cokes show on MTV, but those are apparently not true. Ray responded:

"I have heard that too but it is only a rumour; I am not making any new show for MTV. Enjoy watching the old stuff though!"

Ray on VH1

RAY was back on our TV's for the weekend (24-25th July '99) only: He was on VH-1 doing the "Kate and Jono Show" (a LIVE show between 9.00pm and 10pm UK TIME). Ray was co-hosting the show together with Caprice.

Most popular VJ on MTV

February 21st, 1999 -- This month the viewers of MTV Text were asked which MTV presenter would deserved the title "Best MTV VJ". It wasn't a big surprise when MTV announced the winner: Ray Cokes. Years after his departure from MTV Europe, the viewers still remember his unique style of presenting, his funny crappy jokes and his crazy TV crew.

Ray leaves Virgin Radio

July 20th, 1998 -- Ray has announced he's left Virgin Radio:

As you are probably aware by now, Virgin Radio and I have parted company. I was not happy there; indeed some of my colleagues where the nastiest people I have ever met.

I have been advised to say nothing further at present,......

In the meantime thank you so much for all your emails and support, whenever I'm down you bring me up again.

Ray on Virgin Radio

Ray started presenting the, imaginativly titled, Ray Cokes Show, on Sunday 8th Feb 1998 on Virgin Radio. The show is broadcast Sunday to Thursday at 7pm (8 CET) for three hours on 105.8fm around London and 1215 AM for the rest of England and parts of Europe.

Pathetic Pat returns in the new feature Post Pat: Pat is sent out to various places, the first week he was sent to be hypnotised to become 'a nicer person'.

Some old ideas are being recycled (Clean Our Souls and Phone Sex) along with several new ideas and 'Every night there is something different'.
